Jacobís Pillow Dance
BACK TO MAIN
Jacob's Pillow Dance lauded worldwide as a "hub and mecca of dancing" (TIME Magazine) and "one of America's most precious cultural assets" (Mikhail Baryshnikov), is a treasured National Historic Landmark and home to America's longest running international dance festival.
The Jacob's Pillow Archives document the history of the Festival and School and the artists who have taken part in these activities, with particular emphasis on Ted Shawn, Ted Shawn's Men Dancers, and the Denishawn Company. The collection includes correspondence, photographs, programs, board minutes, books, costumes, posters, films, audiotapes, and scrapbooks. Approximately 30 minutes of rare Black & White footage taken during the Denishawn tour of Asia in 1926 has been made available to the production for research purposes and for use in the production.
